There's really no rhyme or reason to my creative process. Sometimes I may start with an idea in mind, do some sketches to work out the logistics of a composition, and spend a lot of time doing studies and preps before I start a particular piece. Other times I just pick up a pencil or paint brush and see what comes to life on whatever subject I'm working on. Either way, I pour a lot of myself into every piece of art I create—whether I'm constructing a portrait or manifesting something more expressive.
